Senior Pathways


VPC

The VPC is an inclusive Year 11 and 12 certificate designed to meet the needs of students who require a more individualised and flexible program for their last 2 years of secondary schooling. The VPC is a foundation secondary qualification under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 . Certificate provision of the VPC means that VPC Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills studies are delivered on-site by the school . You’ll need to complete 12 or more units, including at least:

  • 2 VPC Literacy units (or units from the VCE English group including VCE VM Literacy)
  • 2 VPC Numeracy units (or units from the VCE Mathematics group including VCE VM Numeracy)
  • 2 VPC Work-Related Skills units
  • 2 VPC Personal Development Skills units.

The remaining four units can come from other VPC units such as Art or from a VET Certificate I or above subject.

 

ASDAN

Lifeskills Challenge is ASDAN’s popular online bank of practical activities designed to nurture self-awareness and introduce core skills for children and young people. These activity challenges are a flexible way to recognise and reward small steps of achievement, with a focus on person-centred learning and progression. Lifeskills Challenge activities are aimed at learners working at the equivalent pre-Entry Level to Level 2, providing an inclusive foundation for learners to participate and thrive in a personalised education journey. This programme enables us to meet individual needs of students form year 9, by providing a personalised curriculum for our students facing barriers to learning in the VPC

 

Vocational Education and Training

VET allows senior secondary students to gain industry-recognized qualifications (Certificates II or III) while completing their VPC. It provides practical, hands-on learning and prepares students for work or further study in areas like building, IT, and health. Hampden is part of the Corangamite Trade Training Cluster, allowing students to participate in :Certificate III in Make Up, Certificate II in Salon Assistant, Certificate II in Building and Construction, Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation, Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies,  Certificate III in Business, Certificate II in Creative Industries, Certificate II in Active Volunteering, Certificate II in Hospitality  (one year completion), Certificate II in Engineering Studies and Certificate III in Music Industry.

 

Work Experience

  • Work Experience (Year 10) - 1 week in Term 2
  • Work Placement (Years 11 &12) - Every Wednesday during the school term commensing Week 4 of Term 1.
