Newsletter 30th April, 2026

From the Principal

Term 2 has quickly kicked off with staff and students working hard in the classrooms on student learning. We continue to have a strong focus on our structured Literacy Program with a focus on Explicit  Teaching. Tomorrow all teachers will participate in Professional Learning with Ben Nguyen who is a specialist in Explicit Teaching and strategies to support students in the classroom with learning to read and write and keep students engaged in their learning.

Staff have been busy updating IEP’s and next week you will receive a phone call from your child’s teacher to discuss the new IEP and any growth or concerns you may have. IEP’s will be sent home for you to read before your SSG. Please book your time with your teacher through the Xuno platform. These phone meetings will run between 3:15 and 4:15 Tuesday and Thursday.

In the coming weeks teachers will no longer be responding to communication through their personal phones, families are asked to use Xuno, call the office or write a note to the teacher. Each area of the school will be receiving their own mobile phone and number that can be used on excursions, or for parents to contact this number as needed. Further details will be provided as they come to hand.

In coming weeks all staff will participate in the updated Childsafe PROTECT Standards that have been released by the Government, this is to ensure all staff are aware of their legal obligations regarding child safety.

Take care,
Kylie Carter
