Principal's Report

The first term has certainly flown by. Congratulations to all students and staff for your hard work in term 1, it seems like only yesterday we were breaking for Christmas, and now we are looking forward to Easter!

Staff have been busy assessing students and writing reports, your child’s report will go home today.

Teaching and learning has a major focus on literacy this term and improving best practice. A working group has participated in the regions literacy learning community over the past 2 years and as a result our planning model and the structure of literacy has been refreshed to align with the new Education Department expectations. Lyn Wines our Learning Specialists has been working tirelessly to improve our resourcing of reading materials and resources for the phonics program. Next term under the guidance of Lyn we will have a literature focus on Indigenous text which will enhance cultural knowledge across our student body

Our Childsafe Standards focus has been on culturally safety and belonging in our school community. Students celebrated Harmoney Week and the Terang Campus were lucky enough to have Sheree Johnston spend a morning teaching us about Country and indigenous art and symbols.

As we head into the school holidays I wish everyone a safe, fun and relaxing break, if you are travelling over the busy Easter period stay safe and take care on our roads.

Take care

Kylie Carter

Principal
