Principal's Report

I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather we have been having with sunshine and much-needed rain. As we head into the long weekend, I wish everyone a safe and fun break. I would also like to invite everyone to our Welcome BBQ next Thursday, 12th March, from 5-7pm. Both campuses will be open to welcome families with a sausage and a smile, during this time you will have the opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and see all their amazing work they have been doing this term.

Staff professional learning this week is focusing on improving explicit teaching and student engagement in learning. Individual learning plans have been developed alongside our student support group meetings which took place last Monday. Thank you to all our families for making the time to discuss both the learning and well-being needs of your child.

Next Tuesday our whole school will participate in Clean up Australia Day and we thank Natasha Togni for organising this event again this year. The day supports our students to understand the importance of the environment being everyone’s responsibility and how we can all contribute to keeping our community clean.

On Friday our female students from the Cobden campus will travel to Warrnambool to participate in a program at Flagstaff Hill to celebrate International Women’s Day. South West TAFE are running this day for the first time, and our students are looking forward to being a part of this celebration.

Thank you to all our students who have continued to follow our school values of respect, safety, kindness and teamwork through the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program that is in its third year of being implemented. This program is a whole school approach to supporting our students with positive language, clear boundaries and recognition of demonstrating our values across the school.

Take care
Kylie Carter
