Welcome back to the 2026 school year, we are looking forward to a full year of learning, fun and strong outcomes for all our students.
The school will be having a strong focus on our literacy program this year, we are working hard to strengthen our practices with a focus on explicit teaching. We will also continue our work with School Wide Positive Behaviours that has a strong focus on using positive language throughout the school with a whole school approach.
It has been lovely to see all the students settling into their classes. We also welcome some new faces across the school both students and staff, we are sure you will love our school as much as we do.
We welcome all our families to our Welcome BBQ on Thursday 12th March at the campus your child attends from 5-7pm. This gives an opportunity to our families to meet other families that attend the school and enjoy a casual chat with staff.
Please remember to check ‘upcoming dates’ on our website to keep up with any upcoming dates. If you are having any problems with Xuno please contact the office for support, this is the platform along with the website that will help you keep up to date with all the happenings at our school.
Take care

Middle Years have had a great start to 2026 in the Cobden Art Room.
I look forward to a creative and productive year ahead!

Welcome back and here is to a great 2026.
The Parents Association have been really busy in the last lot of holidays with our market stall proving to be very popular. We had a market stall at the Terang Gala as well as the Camperdown Night Markets. We also managed to fit in a Bunnings BBQ a couple of days before Christmas. Although we raised a decent amount of money for the school at all of these events, the best part is the people that you meet that have had positive experiences with our young children and have the desire to tell us just how good our students, teachers and school is. It really is a testament to how much work the staff put into the school on the daily basis.
If you ask any of the students that were at the events what the best part was, I am sure they would say watching Paul get dunked. I have heard that Emma was pretty wrapped with dunking him.
I would also like to mention the community that we share as part of Hampden P -12. Even though not all parents can help at the events on the stalls, they are all happy to help in other ways. I was lucky enough to have 3 different parents take photos of my children with Santa at the Gala just so we didn’t miss out. We also had another parent, teachers aide and bus driving helping out our children around the Camperdown Night Markets so that we could continue to do what we love doing for the school. It truly takes a village to raise children and that’s what we have within this school community so thank you.
We are starting the term off this year with a couple of races at the Terang Amateur Swimming Club Carnival. There are 4 races that your child can compete in. The Parents Association are going to cover the entry fee for any school competitor and the top 3 place getters will get a medal and the potential to receive a carnival medal as well. These races will also have older swim club members helping our students if needed.
The 4 races on the day are
Note: A handicap race means that you nominate a time that you can do the race in and it is awarded as closest to times nominated.
Students are free to enter other events as well should they want to.
