I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend, staff certainly benefited from the informative session with Dan Petro (behaviour Therapist) on Monday. He supported staff to consolidate their understanding of managing challenging behaviours, write support plans, facilitate lunchtime clubs and playground expectations and general classroom management skills. The school has worked with Dan over a 2-year period and thank him for all his contributions to Hampden P-12 School.
Our school report is back with some excellent results stemming from our staff and student surveys. The Attitude to School Survey has outstanding results that deserve to be celebrated. The students in year 4-12 complete the survey each year, the survey asks questions about their learning and enjoyment of school. In 4 categories the outstanding results are as follows:
100% Differentiated Learning Challenge
100% Classroom Behaviour
100% Effective Teaching Time
100% Stimulated Learning Environment
These results are compared to similar schools, the network and the state, our school exceeds all the results. All the results are especially pleasing but we would attribute the classroom behaviour results to all the work staff have done with Dan Petro and the introduction of the School Wide Positive Behaviour Program.
Our 92% attendance rate also needs to be celebrated, and families and students commended on the importance they place on sending their children to school and their obvious value of education. This result also exceeds other similar schools and the state.
The Staff Survey indicated that 90% of staff believe that our school has strong links with families and community and 93% for collective focus on student learning, our staff are fully committed to providing a program for all students that is engaging, educational and supportive. Once again this far exceeds similar schools and the state average.
Our parent survey results are not yet out but we look forward to celebrating their results also.
Take care,
Kylie Carter

Our Early Years students had an amazing day exploring the wonders of Australian wildlife during our excursion to Cudgee Wildlife Park. The children were filled with excitement as they set off on the bus, ready for an adventure filled with learning and fun.
We began our day sharing a lovely morning tea together before heading inside the wildlife park. The students were delighted to see a variety of native Australian animals, including dingoes, wombats, wallabies, koalas, emus, shingleback lizards, and even a friendly non-venomous snake.
Everyone had the special opportunity to touch, pat, and gently hold some of the animals, building a deeper appreciation for Australia’s unique wildlife. The children were fascinated by the different kinds and sizes of wallabies and loved feeding the wallabies, emus, and deer.
Our adventure ended with lots of laughter as we watched the playful monkeys, a perfect way to wrap up a fun and educational day outdoors.
It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that sparked curiosity, encouraged gentle interactions with animals, and created lasting memories for everyone!

Students from Geraldine’s class have completed their ‘Big Head’ sculptures.
Student's chose a famous person for this task, before constructing their head using cardboard, Papier Mache and soft materials such as felt and wool. They worked really hard on this task, the finished products look amazing!

Who are we and what do we do?
This is our 2nd year as an organisation and as such we are still finding our feet. Our main aim was and still is to find ways to help students at the school in a way that helps the parents’ pockets.
To do this we have to raise money which is a hard task when we have a very small school and are trying very hard not to ask the parents again and again. This does mean that we have had to be creative and raise money away from the school environment with things such as Bunnings BBQs and stalls at the Noorat Show and Terang Gala.
Although these can be lucrative, as you can imagine they can be a lot of work to make happen. We are very fortunate at this school that there are staff that are very invested in the school and will often help out of school hours to make sure these activities are a success but we can always have more helpers.
There are 4 events happening this year that we would really love some volunteers to help.
If you can assist in some way please feel free to call
Kristie Simpson on 0488 431 083.
Helping can include setting up and packing away, an hour on a stall, picking up supplies or even helping to price stock for the stall. Every little bit helps and is always appreciated and for most things our young ones can tag along.
Where has the money gone?
So far some of the money has gone into Mother’s and Father’s Day activities, sports day, toiletry packs for camps and pictures at all the events the school has.
We hope to do more next year but we have a small committee of 5 people and there is only so much we can do.
So here is to another successful term 4 and an even better year next year.

MONDAY 3RD NOVEMBER
The boys in middle and later years are having a couple of special guest speakers come to school to talk all things men’s mental and physical health.
This will be followed by a shared lunch and then some games/activities at lunch time.
