Newsletter 21st August, 2025.

From the Principal

Today we welcomed Dan Petro (behaviour therapist) to our classrooms once again, Dan has played a big role over the past 2-3 years in upskilling our staff in managing tricky behaviours with a positive approach. Today he supported our ESS staff in building their capacity to manage students calmly and effectively.

Everyone should have received a note in your child’s bag regarding the parent survey, we would appreciate as many parents as possible in completing this survey online. The results support our yearly planning, assists funding levels and provides valuable data for the direction our school needs to take.

Book Week was well enjoyed and celebrated by all the students on Tuesday with a parade and activities at the Terang Campus. Our Middle Years and Later Years students did a fantastic job helping Tash and Lyn organise and run the day.

Tomorrow the whole school will be involved in the African Drumming session at Cobden, parents are invited to join us from 2pm in the later years room. All buses will leave from Cobden on Friday, your child may be home earlier or later as the run will be a little different.

There are lots of upcoming events coming up so please refer to upcoming events on our newsletter.

Take Care

Acts of Kindness for Book Week

This week we celebrated Book Week in style, and whilst it was fantastic to see everyone dressed up, celebrating their love of reading, it was the positive student interactions that really stood out on the day. So many acts of kindness demonstrated throughout the school.

Well done to all of our students!

Wear it Purple 2025

On 29 August 2025, ‘Wear It Purple Day’ will unite LGBTQIA+ youth and allies to shine a glorious light on the thousands of schools, community organisations, universities, and workplaces that are coming together to create a more inclusive future for all Australians.

By wearing purple, Australians demonstrate to rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.

Originally founded by students in response to global stories of teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment, Wear it Purple Day has become an international movement of love and support.

This year’s theme is "Bold Voices, Bright Futures", with artwork by Lee Evatt (He/Them), winner of Wear It Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition to create a campaign message and artwork in celebration of LGBTQIA+ people openly and visibly achieving their dreams in sport, art, science and more!
