The term is certainly flying along with lots of testing and celebrating being heard across the school. The school has introduced the new Dibels literacy testing and student outcomes are pleasing. Teachers have completed training in administrating the assessment tool and are finding the results pleasing and the administration timely. Many schools across the Southwest are now using this assessment platform.
Next week our Cobden Campus students will be learning more about cyber safety, online etiquette and staying safe. They will complete a 2 week block on understanding safe use of the internet and social platforms. In week 10 we will invite families to visit the school to showcase our learning in this area.
As a whole school focus, we continue to work within the framework of the School Wide Positive Behaviour Schools Mode, the staff have a focus on rewarding positive behaviours and use positive language to support student learning. We tell the students what to do, not what not to do, immersion in positive language builds strong connections and a sense of belonging across the school.
We continue to welcome new students to both our Terang and Cobden campus this week, we are proud of how our students welcome new members to our community and support them to feel part of our school.
Take care,
Kylie Carter

Later Years students have been using various text and fonts in their latest artworks, which incorporate the use of our school value keywords – KIND, SAFE, TEAM, RESPECT.
They have done a great job on these colourful and vibrant posters!
