Newsletter 13th June, 2024.

From the Principal

As we head into the last couple of weeks of the term it is very pleasing to hear teachers sharing stories of the achievement of our students as they write their reports.

Everyone has worked really hard to achieve their goals and deserve to sit back and enjoy their growth. I encourage families to celebrate their child’s achievements with their child.

Staff and students have been battling some illness in recent weeks and we appreciate families keeping their children home when they are sick. Remember to either ring the office or pop the absence reason on Xuno so teachers can mark the roll appropriately.

I am heading off on leave until week 3 of term 3, Brad Adams will be stepping into the role of principal during this time, Brad is a very capable leader of our students, staff and community. I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to take a trip knowing that our hardworking team of staff and students will barely notice my absence! I appreciate the collaboration and commitment of our staff, that I feel completely supported and comfortable enjoying my holiday.

Reports will go home next Thursday 20th June, please look out for these in your child’s bag. School will finish for the last day on Friday 28th June at 2pm, please expect your child an hour earlier than usual. Early Years students will be on camp so please see itinerary for further information.

Have a great break and I will see you all when I return?

Take care

Kylie Carter

Principal

Later Years Update

Middle Years - Puppy Play Therapy

On Wednesday the 12th of June, we were lucky enough to have Jessica’s family visit us with their 6 week old puppies!

Students had a fantastic time snuggling and cuddling the pups and it provided them with some positive mindfulness time. It was great to see all students engaged with the pups and discussing the different ways they would/could take care of them in the moment. Such an uplifting experience.

We wish we could have puppies to snuggle everyday!

Later Years Artworks

As the end of semester approaches, we are seeing lots of finished pieces coming out of the art room. Well done to those students who created colourful discs and mosaic pots.

Administration at Hampden

Hello to all our Families and Carers,

I just wanted to say hello and touch base regarding our Administration hours.  As we are a small school, we only have one administration staff member, which is myself.  I am very fortunate to be here full time, some small schools have anything from 1 day to 4 days of admin staff.

There are many aspects to my role and they are varied.  At times different parts of my job take me away from the phone or my desk to go to the post office, pick up catering for events and meetings.  At these times please be patient with us.  If you cannot get us on phone, please try back or you can send us an email hampden.ss@education.vic.gov.au.  Student related enquiries can be made direct with your childs teacher via the Xuno App.  If you need to talk to them, you can request that they give you a call when they are not teaching.

I am at the Terang Campus on Mondays, the rest of the week I am at the Cobden Campus.  Please pop in and say hello if you are close by.  I can help you with a range of things administration related.  If you are having issues with our Xuno app, I can help you reset your password or navigate through the app.  You may also like to add our newsletter or events calendar to the homescreen of your phone for easy access when the time suits you to took at them.  I can also send you a statement if you wish to see any amounts owing for a particular event or activity.

Have a great weekend and stay warm!
