We’ve had a busy fortnight in the Cobden Art Program, with a visit to the Warrnambool Art Gallery, the Creative Art Industry Day and lots of creative works happening in class.
The cooking program in Middle Years has had a successful start so far this term. This week, students enjoyed Spaghetti Bolognese and Apple Cake. Both dishes were delish!
My favourite part of swimming is doing backstroke. In this photo, I am jumping into the pool up the deep end. I am good at getting the sinky toys.
This year’s swimming has been very delightful. I am enjoying my first year of swimming and this has been very amazing. I am so excited to have another year coming up soon in 2025. I am so excited because next year I will be in Year 8 and I will be able to swim with the Year 8’s who are the older kids.
It’s been heaps of fun being able to do swimming and learning swimming techniques like jumping in the deep end and floating onto our backs then swimming back up to the shallow end of the pool.
On Friday 10th May students are encouraged to wear blue clothing ( or a touch of blue) in support of Dollys Dream. We will also be having cupcakes for sale. A gold coin donation for both wearing casual clothing and cakes is encouraged.
Here at Hampden Specialst school we will be focussing on being kind and spreading the anti bullying message throughout our school programme for the whole week.
All money made will be sent to the foundation which trains counsellors to provide free mental health online support.
Dollys Dream is about changing the culture of bullying by increasing understanding of the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide – and providing support to parents.
