As many of you known for the last 2 weeks our school has been undergoing our 4 year review. This gives the opportunity for our school community including staff, families and students to contribute to our celebrations and goals moving forward in the next 4 years. As part of our panel we have had school president Kristie Simpson, school council member Anthony O’Connor, Cherie Kilpatrick (area SIEL), Kath Tanner principal from Terang College and Ben Tait from Horsham Special as our challenge partners and Fiona McKenzie the independent school reviewer, we thank all of these people for their commitment and diligence in working towards a new plan for our school that captures new directions to improve our student outcomes.
Our panel has been busy observing classrooms, talking to students and watching their learning. The students have been very receptive to our visitors and have welcomed them in to our learning environments. The staff have had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss areas for future emphasis and improvement. We are looking forward to receiving our new 4 year strategic plan and setting goals for 2024.
Brad and Paul attended the Numeracy Community of Practice in Hamilton on Monday and have bought back some practical classroom based engagement practices to share with our teaching staff. Staff have worked hard over the past 2 years to create hands on engaging maths learning opportunities for our students.
Thank you to all our families that have attended SSG meetings (parent/teacher/interviews) this week, this is a valuable time to discuss your child’s learning plan and contribute to the goal setting.
I wish everyone a happy and safe long weekend and look forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday.
Thank you
Take care

Middle Years students have had a productive start to the year in the art room…already completing two artworks! The latest was a ‘TAG’ of their name, which involved learning lettering techniques, creating a textured background and using coloured pencils for shading. They did a great job!
Congratulations to all the students who participated in our Clean Up Australia Day event on February 27th. It was great to have every student from Prep to Year 12 involved! The celebratory BBQ and icy pole at the Cobden Lake, was a welcome treat after our clean up in the hot sun…great work team!
